Biography

Erika is a Boston-based flutist and holds a master's degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she was a student of Boston Symphony Orchestra piccoloist Cynthia Meyers. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School in 2020, where she was a student of Janet Arms.

An active freelancer in the Boston area, Erika currently plays with groups such as the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, Cape Symphony, Portland Symphony, Landmarks Orchestra, Boston Festival Orchestra, and Cape Ann Symphony.

While at NEC, Erika was a member of the NEC Philharmonia, the NEC Wind Ensemble, and the NEC New Music Ensemble. She is an active chamber musician as well, performing in duos, trios, and quintets since arriving in Boston. In the spring of 2022, her woodwind quintet had the honor of performing Yehudi Wyner's Into the Evening Air on a BSO Prelude Concert.

 
An active competitor as well, Erika was selected in 2022 as a finalist in the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra's Instrumental Concerto Competition. In fall of 2021, she was a finalist in NEC's annual concerto competition for winds, brass, and percussion, and in 2018, she was a finalist in Hartt's annual Paranov Concerto Competition.
 
Erika has performed in masterclasses for many renowned soloists and orchestral musicians, including Elizabeth Rowe, Stefán Höskuldsson, and Emmanuel Pahud. A native of Massachusetts, Erika enjoys cooking and collecting houseplants in her spare time.
